VPN Mir (ВПН Мир, VPN MIR): where to download it for phone and PC, the donor key and why it isn't working

VPN Mir («ВПН Мир» in Russian, VPN MIR) is a free VPN on the VLESS protocol with Reality camouflage that runs on donations. As of October 26, 2026 there are official apps for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac and Windows, but no Android version yet: on the vpnmir.net site it is marked "Coming soon". Below we look at who is behind the service, what the "donor key" gives you, where to download the original and why it may fail to connect. The name has nothing to do with Mir payment cards: the VPN is named after the Soviet space station.

If you need a VPN with an Android app and no queue for free servers, we recommend BessyConnect. Details in the section below.

What is VPN Mir (VPN MIR) and who is behind it?

VPN Mir is a small independent project. In the App Store the app is published by VPN MIR LLC, the site footer lists «ООО ВПН МИР» (VPN MIR LLC), and on the donations page the project is presented by "Evgeny Fedorov, developer and founder". The same page says the project is run by one person.

The first version came out in the App Store on May 20, 2025. The latest update, 2.5.2, is dated July 16, 2026, meaning the app hasn't been updated for more than three months. In the description the developer promises no logs, built-in ad blocking, split tunneling and DNS leak protection. No registration is needed.

The VPN Mir site and "vpn mir xyz". The project's address has changed several times. The vpnmir.com domain was registered in September 2024, vpnmir.xyz in February 2025, vpsmir.com in November 2025, and vpnmir.net on October 2, 2026. Now vpnmir.com and vpnmir.xyz redirect to vpnmir.net. So the search suggestion "vpn mir xyz" is simply the site's old address.

Namesakes. In Telegram there are channels "VPN Мир", "VPN MIR" and "MirVPN" with a handful of subscribers each; they have been selling keys for 199–200 rubles since 2022–2024. On Google Play you'll come across «VPN по Миру» (VPN Around the World), "MIRA VPN" and «Мира ВПН» (Mira VPN). None of them has anything to do with the vpnmir.net project. Similar services with "people's" names are collected in the review of people's VPNs.

Is VPN Mir free? What the donor key is

Basic access is free, and the "donor key" goes to those who have set up a monthly donation. On the donations page as of 26.10.2026 there are three tiers:

TierAmountWhat is promised
«Сподвижник» (Supporter)220 rubles a monthUnlimited connection time, connecting without a queue
«Покровитель» (Patron)440 rubles a monthThe same plus "secret servers": several dozen locations, some marked "Whitelist"
«Благотворитель» (Benefactor)1,000 rubles a monthThe same plus priority support

There is also a one-time option for 100 rubles. On the download pages the same tiers cost 199, 400 and 1,000 rubles, so check the exact amount on the payment page.

An important detail follows from the tier descriptions: free users apparently have limited connection time and a queue to connect. The site doesn't state the exact limits.

What to know before paying:

  • The donation is set up as a subscription with automatic charges: on the payment page you have to accept a "recurring payments agreement". You can cancel by emailing support@vpnmir.com; they promise to do it within 24 hours.
  • Payments go through YooKassa. Mir, Visa and Mastercard cards are accepted, as well as cryptocurrency.
  • One key works on 5 devices. The public offer prohibits sharing it with outsiders, with close relatives as the exception.
  • The offer includes a traffic quota: 500 GB per 30 days, raised to 1 TB on request.

How exactly the key appears in the app after payment isn't publicly described on the site. If the key didn't arrive, write to support rather than to third-party channels with similar names. How access keys work in general is covered in the article on VPN keys.

How to download VPN Mir on iPhone, Mac and PC?

Download only via the links on vpnmir.net: the iPhone app in the App Store, and the Mac and Windows installers in the developer's GitHub repository. As of 26.10.2026 the Windows file was updated on October 23 and the Mac one on October 9.

  1. iPhone, iPad, Apple TV. The VPN MIR app from VPN MIR LLC is in the US, Kazakhstan, Germany, Armenia and Georgia App Stores, but not the Russian one. For this case the site itself gives instructions on changing your App Store region. What to do if the app disappeared after changing the country is described in the article VPN disappeared from the App Store.
  2. Mac. The file VPN.MIR.dmg; according to the site, macOS Sequoia 15.1 or later is required, and Apple Silicon processors are supported.
  3. Windows. The installer VPNMIR-win-Setup.exe; the site says it is compatible with Windows 11 and later. Nothing is said about Windows 10.

Is there VPN Mir for Android?

No. As of October 26, 2026 there is no official VPN Mir app for Android: on the site the Android button opens a form saying "The app is almost ready" with a sign-up for an email notification. The app isn't on Google Play or RuStore either.

So searching «впн мир скачать бесплатно на андроид» ("vpn mir free download for android") currently turns up either other apps with similar names or APKs from file sites. It's better not to install the latter: the developer hasn't published such files, and there's no way to check what's inside. How to spot a fake is explained in the article on fake VPN apps.

Why isn't VPN Mir working, and what to do?

Most often the cause is overloaded or switched-off servers. VPN Mir has a public server status page. In our snapshot on October 26, 2026 at about 19:20 Moscow time, the list had 247 servers: 28 online (in 11 countries), 127 under maintenance and 92 offline. Several of the online ones were 100% loaded.

What you can do:

  1. Choose another location in the app: with such a share of servers under maintenance, the first one you pick may simply not respond.
  2. Check whether you've hit the time limit or the free-access queue (see the section on donations).
  3. Make sure the app was downloaded from the official site or the App Store, not from a file site.
  4. If only mobile data fails while Wi-Fi works, your carrier may have switched on whitelist mode. VPN Mir claims dedicated servers for this mode for donors; we haven't tested them. What helps at all under such restrictions is covered in the article on mobile internet whitelists.

General reasons a VPN stops connecting are collected in the piece why a VPN isn't working.

Is VPN Mir safe?

The service's data promises are strict, but they can't be verified from the outside. The privacy policy on the site says that traffic logs, IP addresses and browsing history aren't stored. At the same time, the service records the fact of use over the last 30 days and collects app events: device model, city, country, time zone, provider and current server, tied to a random device ID. In the App Store the developer declared only usage data not linked to the user.

A few more observations as of 26.10.2026:

  • The figures on the site don't match. The home page says "65+ servers", the download pages say "more than 60" and "30+ locations", and the status list shows 247 servers. The site displays ratings of 4.8–4.9 from 721–847 reviews, while in the US App Store the app has 4.43 from 470 ratings.
  • Legal entity. «ООО ВПН МИР» in the footer and VPN MIR LLC in the App Store; no tax ID (INN) or address is given on the site.
  • Audit. We found no independent audit of the "no logs" policy.

This isn't a sign of wrongdoing, but you have to rely on the developer's word.

Why we recommend BessyConnect

We recommend BessyConnect to those who need a VPN with an app for Android and Android TV and no queue for free servers. The protocol is in the same class: VLESS with Reality camouflage, which makes the traffic look like an ordinary HTTPS connection. There are more than 100 servers, no logs are kept, registration isn't required, and there is a trial period.

To be fair about where VPN Mir is stronger: it has a Windows client, while BessyConnect has no Windows app. Basic access to VPN Mir is free, with no registration.

BessyConnect apps:

What neither BessyConnect nor any other VPN solves. If your carrier has cut off data entirely, no VPN will help; under whitelists it is, as a rule, powerless too. A donation paid to VPN Mir can't be transferred to another service. And BessyConnect isn't in the Russian App Store, just like VPN Mir: on iPhone you'll need an Apple ID from another country.

If VPN Mir connects reliably for you, there's no reason to switch. But if you're on Android, are tired of the queue and busy servers, or don't want to set up a donation with automatic charges, try BessyConnect: all versions are gathered on the download page.

Frequently asked questions

Is VPN Mir about paying with a Mir card? No. VPN Mir (VPN MIR) is a separate VPN service named after the Mir space station. You can pay for a donation to it with a Mir card.

Is there VPN Mir for Android? Not as of 26.10.2026. On the official site the Android version is marked "Coming soon", the app isn't on Google Play or RuStore, and the developer hasn't published APKs on third-party sites.

How do I get a VPN Mir donor key? Set up a monthly donation on the vpnmir.net page: 220 rubles removes the queue and the time limit, and from 440 rubles the "secret servers" open up. The donation is charged automatically; you cancel it by emailing support@vpnmir.com.

How do I download VPN Mir on a PC? For Windows 11 and later and for Macs on macOS 15.1 or newer, the installers are available via the links on the official site. You don't need an Android emulator, especially since there is no Android version.

What can I use instead of VPN Mir on Android? For example, BessyConnect: VLESS with Reality camouflage, more than 100 servers, no logs, registration not required, and apps for Android and Android TV. It has no Windows version.
