"Portal VPN" (in Russian «Портал ВПН») is the name people most often search for when they mean the free apps of the «Киберпортал» (Cyberportal) project: PORTAL WG, PORTAL Connect, КИБЕРПОРТАЛ // X (CYBERPORTAL // X) and several other clients. Cyberportal VPN and Portal WG VPN are the same project, not separate services. The apps aren't on Google Play, the App Store or RuStore: the files are distributed by the Telegram channel @STR_BYPASS (237,912 subscribers as of October 26, 2026) and the project's page on SourceForge. There are no versions for iPhone or Mac. If you need a VPN from an official app store, including for iPhone and TV, we recommend BessyConnect. Below is what can be verified about Cyberportal from primary sources.
Yes. "Portal" and "Cyberportal" are one Telegram project that releases several clients for Android, Windows and Linux. The main one is PORTAL WG, hence the search query «портал вг впн» (portal wg vpn). No legal entity, author name or privacy policy is given anywhere.
The channel started under the name STR BYPASS. A Wayback Machine archive copy from July 25, 2025, shows 5.68 thousand subscribers and the first app: the channel itself called it "AmneziaWG with a built-in WARP generator". By August 13, 2026, there were 223,398 subscribers, and by October 26, 237,912. The chat @strbypass has another 73,387 members.

Other people's products also live under the word "Portal". Telegram has the bots Portal VPN (@prtlvpnbot) and Portal Secure VPN (@portalconsole_bot): neither Cyberportal's site nor its channel links to them. The Russian App Store has HT Portal VPN from the Italian Hive Technology, but that is an app for remote tech support, not a public VPN. Yes. There are no paid plans on the site or in the channel; the project lives on voluntary donations via CloudTips, «Спасибо МИР» (Spasibo MIR) and Tribute. In return there are no guarantees either: no contract, no support with obligations, no refunds.
It is important to understand where the free part comes from. According to the description on the official site, the WARP and MASQUE generators issue Cloudflare configurations, meaning traffic goes through the Cloudflare WARP network, not through the project's own servers. The PORTAL GATE section issues configs "for 24 hours" with a quota, after which they have to be created again. The VLESS keys section is a catalog of public subscriptions for Happ, v2rayNG and Hiddify. How WARP differs from a full VPN is covered in the article Cloudflare WARP instead of a VPN.
A separate note on CYBERPORTAL BS. On September 24, 2026, the channel wrote that they "took a Chinese paid app" and turned it into a free mod. Who wrote the original and what was changed in the code isn't stated. Installing modified copies of paid programs is risky: there is no way to check what else has been added to them.
There are two official sources: the Telegram channel @STR_BYPASS and the cyberportal project on SourceForge. Its "Download" buttons are on the official site warp-gen.cyb-portal.org. The SourceForge account was registered on March 26, 2026; as of October 26, 31,414 files a week are downloaded from it.
On Android.
The site address has changed often: since July 2025 the channel has linked to three sites on Vercel, then to cyb-portal.com (domain registered on July 28, 2026). The site itself names киберпортал.рф as its official address, but on October 26 that domain wouldn't open. Third-party catalogs such as tvbox.one distribute their own APK copies from their own servers, and there is no way to check whether they match the original. On PC. For Windows there are PORTAL WG (installer and portable version), CYBERPORTAL // X and CYBERSHIELD // X. For Linux there are AppImage, deb and rpm packages. There is no macOS version: in August 2026 the channel explained this by saying "we don't have a Mac". With the February update of PORTAL WG for Windows the channel added: "We've come to terms with the antiviruses." If Windows Defender complains about the installer, first read why an antivirus blocks a VPN, and don't turn off protection blindly.
On iPhone. Cyberportal has no iPhone apps of its own; searches in the App Store for «киберпортал», "cyberportal" and "portal wg" found none (checked 26.10.2026). In August 2025 the channel advised iPhone owners to install the third-party DefaultVPN and add the generated config to it manually.
Most often what breaks isn't the app but the configuration: an old WARP key stops working, the generator is overloaded, or the provider has blocked the address and protocol. The channel itself wrote that with frequent generations Cloudflare "sends a captcha" and limits requests. It announced major outages at least four times: in October 2025 the generator server on Vercel couldn't handle the load, in January 2026 the generator stopped working in versions 1.3.5 and below, in March the built-in updater moved to SourceForge, and in September PORTAL Connect had to be fixed after blocking.

There is no way to verify it: the project doesn't name an owner and doesn't publish a privacy policy or source code. The /privacy and /terms pages on the official site returned a 404 error on October 26, 2026.
What is known as of that date:
For opening a blocked site on home Wi-Fi this may be an acceptable compromise. For banking, work email and passwords it is better to choose a service with a clear owner and a data policy.

The honest limits. BessyConnect has no Windows app: if you need a VPN on a Windows PC, BessyConnect won't solve that. BessyConnect isn't in the Russian App Store, so to install it on an iPhone you need an Apple ID from another country. When mobile internet is shut down completely or restricted to whitelists, you may not be able to connect with any VPN, including BessyConnect and Cyberportal's apps.
If PORTAL WG works for you and the absence of an owner and a data policy doesn't bother you, there is no urgent reason to switch. But if the configs have stopped connecting or you need a VPN on an iPhone, Mac or TV, try BessyConnect: you'll find the app for your device on the download page, and the trial period lets you test the service before paying.
Are Cyberportal VPN and Portal VPN the same thing? Yes. It is one Telegram project, @STR_BYPASS, that releases PORTAL WG, PORTAL Connect, CYBERPORTAL // X and other clients. The Portal VPN and Portal Secure VPN bots in Telegram have nothing to do with it.

Is there Portal WG VPN for iPhone? No. Cyberportal has no apps of its own for iPhone or Mac; there are versions for Android, Windows and Linux.
Is Portal VPN free? Yes, there are no paid plans; the project collects donations. The connection largely goes through the free Cloudflare WARP network and public keys, so nobody guarantees speed or stability.
