Prosto VPN (Просто ВПН): which service you're looking for and what is known about it

«Просто ВПН» (Prosto VPN, literally "just VPN") isn't one service but at least five different products with a similar name. Most often people searching for it mean «Просто Космос» VPN (Prosto Kosmos VPN: a Telegram bot and a site, subscription from 149 rubles a month) or ProstoVPN.org, an old paid OpenVPN service at $1 a month that also hosts the free project «АнтиЗапрет» (AntiZapret). There are also two Telegram bots and the Android app Prosto VPN, which aren't connected to each other. We checked all the information below on October 26, 2026. If you need a service with its own app in a store rather than a key from a bot, we recommend BessyConnect.

What is Prosto VPN, and how many services share this name?

Five different products live under the words "prosto vpn", each with its own owner; AntiZapret in the table is the free part of ProstoVPN.org. None of them links to the others, so there is no common "official Prosto VPN site".

Prosto VPN for AndroidGoogle Play, Prosto Solution, LLC1K+ downloads, 4.2 rating from 9 reviews, pilot version

Two more names are easy to confuse with these. «Космос VPN» (Kosmos VPN) from Kosmos Connection in the App Store is a separate brand, not Prosto Kosmos: according to its store description it is a client for your own server and doesn't hand out keys. And «Простой впн - Unlimited Proxy» (Prostoy VPN, "simple VPN") from Ninesharp Technology is only in the Kazakhstan App Store and has no ratings.

Yandex's search suggestions show what people search for most often. These are «просто космос впн» (prosto kosmos vpn: download, not working, reviews, pay, bot), «просто впн антизапрет» (prosto vpn antizapret), «просто впн орг» (prosto vpn org) and "prostovpn.org". Below we go through these products one by one. Almost all people's VPNs suffer from similar confusion over short names.

Prosto Kosmos VPN: who is behind it and how much does it cost?

Prosto Kosmos VPN is sold through the Telegram bot @prosto_kosmos_vpn_bot, and the site prostokosmos.com serves as a storefront. The site footer names the seller: sole proprietor Evgeny Borisovich Ivanov (Иванов Евгений Борисович), OGRNIP 319272400056709. The protocol, according to the site, is VLESS-Reality.

Prices on the site's home page (26.10.2026):

PlanPrice per monthDevices
1 month249 rublesup to 3
3 months199 rublesup to 3
6 months166 rublesup to 5
12 months149 rublesup to 5

The "Try for free" button leads to the bot. The length of the trial isn't stated on the site. In April 2025 the service's channel promised 3 days free without linking a card, but whether that condition still applies can't be determined from the public pages.

Prosto Kosmos also sells hardware with a key already built in for 12 months: a Xiaomi AX3000T router for 10,990 rubles and a ZXV10 B866 set-top box on Android TV 9 for 9,990 rubles. The site claims more than 100 servers, no more than 40 users per server, and a refund if the service doesn't work reliably. These promises can't be verified independently.

Two details are worth knowing before you pay. The prostokosmos.com domain in its current form was registered on September 23, 2024, while the site talks about "12 years of operation": judging by the text, this refers to the developers' experience, not the age of the service. And the channel @prostokosmosvpn (1,213 subscribers) published its last post on April 29, 2025; there has been no news there since.

Prosto VPN AntiZapret and prostovpn.org: what is this site?

ProstoVPN.org is a long-running project: the domain was registered on March 28, 2013, and the first snapshot in the Wayback Machine is dated June 6, 2013. The author is the researcher ValdikSS; both projects, ProstoVPN and AntiZapret, are listed in the contacts of his profile on Habr.

What prostovpn.org says (26.10.2026):

  • the price is $1 a month, paid through a personal account on the stat subdomain;
  • the OpenVPN protocol, ports UDP 1194 and TCP 443;
  • two simultaneous connections are allowed: one over UDP and one over TCP;
  • servers in the USA, the UK, the Czech Republic, Latvia, the Netherlands, Romania, Sweden and other countries;
  • after payment, .ovpn configuration files arrive by email; there is no app of its own.

An important caveat from the site's own FAQ. To the question of whether the service guarantees it will work from Russia, Iran, China and Turkmenistan, the answer is "No, this is a classic VPN service". In other words, ProstoVPN.org doesn't promise resilience against blocking by Russian carriers. Classic OpenVPN is now blocked in Russia more often than modern protocols; why that is so is covered in the article why a VPN isn't working.

AntiZapret is a free service on a subdomain of the same site. According to its description, only sites from the unified register of prohibited information go through it, and everything else opens directly. The service states that it doesn't keep logs of user activity and doesn't inject ads. You can connect in two ways: via an OpenVPN profile or via a proxy in the browser. Support is provided through the project's forum on ntc.party and by email. The page headers of prostovpn.org and AntiZapret show a last modification on September 10, 2026, meaning the site is maintained.

Prosto VPN in Telegram: the bots «Просто! VPN» and Prosto.vpn

Two Telegram services with almost identical names belong to different owners: they have different bots, channels and support. Both sell a subscription link that you have to paste into a third-party client.

Prosto! VPN (@ProstoVPNbot). The bot has 12,203 monthly users; the channel @ProstoVPNnews was created on April 10, 2026 and has gathered 2,118 subscribers. What the service has said about itself in the channel:

  • May 13, 2026: the subscription can be added not only to Happ but also to Koala Clash, Clash Verge and other clients;
  • May 18: after the subscription ends, a Telegram-only server with a 1 GB limit remains so you can renew;
  • July 1: bank card payments from 50 rubles became available;
  • August 23: overall traffic is unlimited; 10 GB a month is given for whitelist mode;
  • October 18: a device limit was introduced, 3, 5 or 10 depending on the plan.

Prices aren't published in the channel; only the bot shows them.

Prosto.vpn (@prostoovpn_bot). The channel @prostovpnchannel has 7,155 subscribers and posts almost every day. On October 21, 2026 the service advised choosing backup servers for whitelists during mobile internet outages, and on October 23 it added a server in Poland. The posts mention the Happ, Incy and v2rayTun clients. The VPN Status catalog (a secondary source) gives a price of 298 rubles a month and a 3-day test for 1 ruble; we didn't find these figures in the channel itself.

How such subscription keys work and what makes them risky is covered in the Happ VPN review.

Prosto VPN download: for phone and PC

The only app named Prosto VPN in the stores is the Android version from Prosto Solution, LLC on Google Play. The other services don't release apps of their own: you get a key or a settings file and install someone else's client. There is no «Просто ВПН» app in the App Store or RuStore (checked 26.10.2026).

ServicePhoneComputer

ProstoVPN.orgOpenVPN Connect for Android and iOSOpenVPN for Windows, Tunnelblick for Mac
Prosto! VPN and Prosto.vpnHapp, Incy and other clientsHapp, Clash Verge and similar
Prosto VPN (Prosto Solution)Google Play, Android and Android TVNo

The query «просто впн на пк» ("prosto vpn for PC") usually means looking for a separate program. None of the services has one: you install a third-party client on the computer, and the key comes from the bot or an email. The steps for Windows and Mac are described in the guide how to install a VPN on a PC.

Don't download a "Prosto VPN" APK file from aggregator sites or chats. It's easy to slip someone else's build under a popular name, and the signs of a fake are collected in the article how to tell a fake VPN app.

Why isn't Prosto VPN working?

Most often what breaks isn't the client but a specific server or key: when a server's address falls under a carrier's filtering, the connection drops until the service issues a new configuration. The Yandex suggestion «просто космос впн не работает» ("prosto kosmos vpn not working") is about exactly this.

What to check, in order:

  1. Make sure the subscription is active and that the key comes from the very bot you paid in. There are several bots with similar names.
  2. Refresh the subscription in the client with the refresh button; both Telegram services explicitly advise doing this after every server change.
  3. Choose another server or location.
  4. Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data: carriers filter differently.
  5. If only whitelisted sites open on mobile internet, a regular VPN server, as a rule, won't help. What happens in this mode is covered in the article mobile internet whitelists.

If you use ProstoVPN.org, remember its own warning: the service doesn't guarantee it will work in Russia. Filtering systems recognize OpenVPN without camouflage more easily than VLESS with Reality.

Is Prosto VPN safe, and what do reviews say about it?

None of the "Prosto" services has an independent audit; you can only judge by their documents and app store listings.

  • Prosto Kosmos. A seller with an OGRNIP is named, and the site has a public offer and policies on privacy, personal data processing and refunds. The channel has been silent since April 2025.
  • ProstoVPN.org and AntiZapret. A public author, a long project history, support on a public forum. AntiZapret states that it doesn't keep logs of user activity.
  • Prosto VPN on Google Play. In the "Data safety" section the developer lists the collection of personal info, app performance data and device identifiers, encryption in transit and the option to delete data. The description promises "no ads", but the listing carries the "Contains ads" label. The developer is registered in Tbilisi, and its domain prostosolution.com was created on July 15, 2026.
  • Telegram bots. We found no company details or public offer in the channels. Payment bypasses the app stores, so you won't be able to get a refund through Apple or Google.

There are few reviews. The Prosto VPN Android app has 9 ratings, averaging 4.2. Recent reviews from October 22–25, 2026 include both praise and complaints about disconnections when switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data. Prosto Kosmos and the bots have no reviews of their own in the stores: they have no App Store or Google Play pages.

Why we recommend BessyConnect

If you searched for "prosto vpn" because you want to install an app and press one button, we recommend BessyConnect. You don't need a key from a bot: the app installs from the store and connects right away.

Let's be direct about where these services are stronger. ProstoVPN.org costs $1 a month, and AntiZapret is free. Prosto Kosmos sells a ready-made router and TV box with a key, and, according to its site, provides programs for Windows, macOS and Linux in the bot. Both Telegram bots claim dedicated servers for whitelist mode. BessyConnect has no Windows app.

What BessyConnect offers:

  • the VLESS protocol with Reality camouflage; the traffic looks like ordinary HTTPS;
  • more than 100 servers;
  • no logs are kept;
  • registration isn't required;
  • there is a trial period;
  • apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, Android and Android TV.

Where to download:

What neither BessyConnect nor any VPN solves. When a carrier leaves only a whitelist of sites on mobile internet, a VPN usually doesn't connect. BessyConnect can't be installed on a Windows computer yet. The app isn't in the Russian App Store; on iPhone you'll need an Apple ID from another country.

If your "Prosto VPN" works reliably, there's no reason to switch. If you've got lost among bots with identical names or are tired of refreshing keys, try BessyConnect: all versions are gathered on the download page.

Frequently asked questions

What is prostovpn.org? A paid OpenVPN service running since 2013; its author is ValdikSS. The free AntiZapret runs on the same site. The site itself warns that it doesn't guarantee it will work from Russia.

Is there Prosto VPN for PC? There is no separate "Prosto VPN" program for Windows. The key from the bot or the settings file goes into a third-party client: OpenVPN for ProstoVPN.org, Happ or Clash Verge for the Telegram services.

What can I use instead of Prosto VPN? If you need a service with its own app, try BessyConnect: VLESS with Reality camouflage, no logs, registration not required, apps in the App Store and Google Play. It has no Windows version.
