Shuka VPN (Щука ВПН): official site, prices, where to download it and why it isn't working

Shuka VPN (in Russian, «Щука ВПН», literally "pike VPN"; also transliterated Shchuka) is a paid VPN service managed through the Telegram bot @ShukaVPN_bot and a personal account on the site shuka.site. A subscription costs 299 ₽ a month, and a 3-day trial costs 10 ₽ (prices on the service's site as of October 26, 2026). The service has no iPhone app of its own; the Happ client is used instead. On Android, Windows and Mac the MantaRay client works. Under the name «Щука», search also turns up at least four more sites and a Chrome extension. They lead to other services, so first let's figure out which address is the real one.

If you need a VPN without mandatory registration or a Telegram link, with its own app for iPhone and Apple TV, we recommend BessyConnect. Details in the section about it below.

Shuka VPN official site: which address is the real one?

The official Shuka VPN site is shuka.site. Posts in the @ShukaVPN channel link to it, and the site itself leads to the bot @ShukaVPN_bot, the channel and support at @MoreVPN_sup. The domain was registered on October 28, 2025. The service announced the launch of a site for managing your subscription without Telegram on May 14, 2026.

We checked the other "Shuka sites" on October 26, 2026, looking at where the main connect button leads:

The Telegram picture is similar. There is one official bot, @ShukaVPN_bot: that is the one the site and the channel point to. Meanwhile, the bot @schukavpnbot has a description word for word identical to the official one, and there are also @schuka_vpn_bot, @shuka_vpn_bot and the small channels @shuka_vpn and @shchukavpn. Check the bot's name letter by letter. Money paid to a lookalike won't reach Shuka. How to recognize a fake in general is described in the article on fake VPN apps.

What is Shuka VPN and who is behind it?

Shuka is one of the "people's" VPNs: the service grows through Telegram, not app stores. The @ShukaVPN channel was created on January 9, 2025, and as of October 26, 2026, it has 1.5 million subscribers. A general analysis of such services is in the review of people's VPNs.

According to the channel's posts, the service's history looks like this:

  • July 2025. The service switched to a new protocol, all old keys were deleted, and users had to import the configuration again. The «Атлантида» (Atlantis) location appeared at the same time.
  • September–October 2025. Atlantis was reworked for mobile internet in cities with restrictions, and new locations were added for such networks.
  • April 1, 2026. The monthly plan went up from 199 to 299 ₽, and the device limit rose from 3 to 5.
  • May 14, 2026. Its own MantaRay client was released, and the site with an account went live. As of October 26, 2026, this is the latest post in the channel.

The legal side is described sparingly. At the bottom of shuka.site, the Danish company Safe Journey Lab ApS is named as the provider. The MantaRay client on Google Play is published by MANTA TECH LTD with an address in London. The privacy policy and the terms of use don't name a legal entity; everywhere it is "the Administration", and the governing law, according to the terms, "is determined by the Administration".

How much does Shuka VPN cost and is there a free mode?

Shuka has no free plan. There is 3-day trial access for 10 ₽, and only for a new user with a linked Telegram account. The prices below are from shuka.site as of October 26, 2026; the device limit on all plans is the same, 5.

PlanPricePer month
Trial, 3 days10 ₽—
1 month299 ₽299 ₽
3 months749 ₽≈ 250 ₽
6 months1,299 ₽≈ 214 ₽
12 months2,199 ₽≈ 181 ₽

The subscription renews automatically; auto-renewal can be turned off on the subscription card in the account. Free days can be earned through the referral program: the channel promises 14 days for each invited friend. The free Telegram proxies the service handed out in March 2026 were later declared no longer valid in the same post.

The lookalike landing pages promise something else: "3 days free" or "3 days for 1 ₽" and "up to 7 devices". These terms belong to the services their buttons lead to, not to Shuka.

Downloading Shuka VPN on Android, iPhone and PC

There is no separate "Shuka" app in the stores. After payment, the account issues a subscription link that you open in a client. As of October 26, 2026, the service's instructions recommend these clients:

  1. Android. MantaRay from Google Play (publisher Manta Tech LTD, more than 100 thousand downloads, a 3.4 rating, updated October 15, 2026). If Google Play is unavailable, the service provides an APK via its own link.
  2. iPhone and iPad. The Happ client. It isn't in the Russian App Store; the service itself advises changing your Apple ID region to Kazakhstan. About the client itself, see our Happ review.
  3. Windows. The MantaRay installer from the service's link; run it as administrator, then "Import subscription".
  4. macOS. MantaRay for Mac on Intel and Apple Silicon.
  5. Android TV. MantaRay from Google Play, connection by QR code through the bot.
  6. Linux and the Quest headset. The subscription link is copied manually into a compatible client.

The site also says Hiddify and Streisand will work.

A separate note on the «Щука ВПН» (Shuka VPN) app in the Russian App Store. It is published by Kadajara OU; version 1.0.2 came out on June 30, 2026, with a 2.9 rating from 34 reviews. In the US store the same listing is called VPN Safe & Secure. We found no connection to the service from the @ShukaVPN channel: for the iPhone, the official site sends you to Happ. The listing states that the app doesn't collect data. But the privacy policy linked from the listing is written for an app called TerraShield and lists the collection of email, payment data and device information.

Why isn't Shuka VPN working and what should you do?

Most often the cause is that a server has stopped responding or the configuration is outdated. The channel admitted this directly on October 24, 2025: "Servers are often shut down". First update the subscription in the client, then go through the locations.

The steps the service itself recommends, plus our own checks:

  1. Connect to Wi-Fi, turn off the VPN and press the subscription update button in the client (the fish icon). This pulls in the new locations.
  2. Go through all the locations from top to bottom. On shuka.site, as of October 26, 2026, eight were available, including auto-select.
  3. Check in the account whether the subscription or trial has ended.
  4. Update MantaRay or Happ to the latest version.
  5. Make sure the payment went through @ShukaVPN_bot or shuka.site, not a lookalike.
  6. Write to support at @MoreVPN_sup.

If there is no connection on any location and on any network, the carrier is probably recognizing the protocol itself, and that can't be fixed on the user's side. A general analysis of causes is in the article why a VPN isn't working.

About money, it is important to know in advance. The terms of use (version of July 11, 2026) promise a refund within 14 days only if access wasn't provided or a technical error occurred. If more than 24 hours have passed since purchase and the complaint is that the service doesn't open specific sites, the money won't be refunded. Nor will it be refunded if the service stopped working because of blocking by Roskomnadzor or the carriers. So test Shuka on your own networks during the 3-day trial.

About whitelists: in 2025 the service added special locations for cities with mobile internet restrictions. But if the carrier allows only approved sites, a VPN as a rule doesn't help. This is explained in the article on whitelists.

Is Shuka VPN safe?

The service does make statements about data, but they can't be verified from the outside, and we found no independent audit. The privacy policy (of December 11, 2025) says the service doesn't collect or store internet traffic, browsing history, IP addresses or DNS queries.

What the service collects according to its own policy: your Telegram identifier, name and subscription data. A trial can't be taken out without a linked Telegram account, so the service knows your account. The same policy says the administration "may consider requests from authorized government bodies" in cases provided for by law. Whose law is not specified.

For the MantaRay client, in the "Data safety" section on Google Play, the developer stated that the app may collect device identifiers, that data is encrypted in transit and is not shared with third parties. The terms forbid torrents and reselling access, and disputing a payment through the bank risks getting the account blocked.

What to replace Shuka VPN with: alternatives

If Shuka has stopped connecting or the mandatory Telegram link bothers you, there are three clear replacements: the ready-made BessyConnect service, the Happ client with your own key, or AmneziaVPN on your own server. The table contains only what is stated in app stores and on the services' sites as of October 26, 2026.

Where Shuka is stronger than BessyConnect, to be honest. It has a client for Windows and Linux, instructions for the Quest headset, a cheap trial and bonuses for invitations. BessyConnect has no Windows app. A detailed comparison of BessyConnect with other services is in the article BessyConnect and other VPNs.

Why we recommend BessyConnect

We recommend BessyConnect to those who need a VPN without extra steps: no bot, no Telegram link and no hunting for a third-party client. It runs on VLESS with Reality camouflage, under which traffic looks like an ordinary HTTPS connection. There are more than a hundred servers, no logs are kept, registration is optional, and there is a trial period.

BessyConnect apps:

What BessyConnect doesn't solve. There is no Windows app, so on a Windows computer Shuka or Happ is more convenient. BessyConnect isn't in the Russian App Store either; to install it on an iPhone you need an Apple ID from another country. And if mobile internet works only on whitelists, neither BessyConnect nor any other VPN will help.

If Shuka connects reliably for you, there is no reason to switch. But if it has stopped working or you aren't sure you reached the official bot, try BessyConnect: all versions are gathered on the download page.

Can I download Shuka VPN for PC? Yes, for Windows and macOS the service offers the MantaRay client, into which you import the subscription link from the account. Download the installer only via the link from the bot or from shuka.site.

Is the «Щука ВПН» app in the App Store official? We found no connection to the service. It is published by Kadajara OU, and the privacy policy in the listing is written for a different app, TerraShield. For the iPhone, the service itself recommends the Happ client.
