Tuman VPN (in Russian «Туман ВПН», "Fog VPN") is the service with a hedgehog in its logo that has released apps for Android, iPhone, Windows and macOS since March 2026. It is now winding down. The official site tumanvpn.ru carries an "Important message": the team admits it can't ensure reliable operation because of constant blocking and is stopping the project. As of October 26, 2026, the app is on neither Google Play nor the App Store. Below is what is known about the service from primary sources, where the lookalikes came from and where to move.
If you need a service that works right now and openly names its protocol, we recommend BessyConnect: VLESS with Reality camouflage, no registration needed, and a trial period.
Tuman VPN is a paid VPN service in which subscription management has been moved to Telegram. T-Man Software is listed as the developer on Google Play and in the App Store. On the English-language site tuman-vpn.com the contacts give T-Man Software LLC with an address in Cheyenne (Wyoming, USA). On the Russian-language tumanvpn.ru, in April 2026 the contact person was a Russian sole proprietor from Zelenograd (according to an archived copy of the "Contacts" page from April 26, 2026).
Both domains were registered through REG.RU: tuman-vpn.com on November 21, 2025, and tumanvpn.ru on December 26, 2025. The user agreements on both sites are dated December 19, 2025, with Moscow given as the place of signing.
| Parameter | What the primary sources say |
|---|---|

| Developer | T-Man Software / T-Man Software, LLC |
| Sites | tumanvpn.ru (Russian), tuman-vpn.com (English) |
| Out of testing | March 4, 2026 |
| Platforms | Android, iPhone and iPad, Windows 10+, Windows 7, macOS, OpenWrt routers |

| Status as of 26.10.2026 | The site announces the project's closure; no pages on Google Play or the App Store |
The public history is short: on March 4, 2026, the test period ended and the app came out in the App Store, followed by versions for Windows and macOS (according to posts in the official Telegram channel @realtumanvpn). Tuman was part of the same wave of simple one-button apps as «Ток» (Tok), «Тик» (Tik) and «Дед» (Ded). A general breakdown of this wave is in our piece on popular VPNs in Russia.
The main reason isn't your phone settings: the service is closing. On the tumanvpn.ru home page the team writes that blocking is happening faster than it can adapt, so the decision has been made to stop the project. The system is promised to be shut down not in a single day but kept running "as long as possible" so that users have time to find a replacement.
The announcement has no exact date. The server returns September 19, 2026, as the last-modified date for this page, and the last post in the official channel came out on July 29, 2026. Support via the bot @realtumanvpnsupportbot, according to the team, still replies, but with a long delay.
If Tuman still connects for you, it won't last: there are no more updates in the stores, and the channel warned earlier that "old versions will soon stop working". What you can do:
General reasons why any VPN stops connecting are covered in the article why a VPN isn't working.
As of October 26, 2026, there is nowhere to download Tuman VPN officially. The com.tumanvpn.app page on Google Play returns a "Not found" error in all regions we checked. The app with ID 6757203036 can't be found in the App Store in the Russian, Belarusian, US, Kazakhstan or German storefronts. The download buttons have been removed from tumanvpn.ru and the APK file deleted.
Things used to be different. In April 2026 the site offered Google Play, an APK, two App Store links (Russian and international), and installers for Windows 10+, Windows 10 on ARM, Windows 7 and macOS. Tuman had constant problems with the Russian App Store: according to the channel, the app was removed from the Russian storefront on March 19, May 7 and July 9, 2026, and returned twice. Users were advised to change their Apple ID region to Belarus. Why this happens with VPN apps is explained in the article VPN disappeared from the App Store.
Tuman VPN for PC, iPhone and Android now turns up only in third-party catalogs. We don't advise installing such builds: it is unknown who repackaged them, and nobody will update them. Why such files are dangerous is covered in our piece on cracked VPNs and mod APKs.
The query «ежик в тумане впн» (hedgehog in the fog vpn, after the famous Soviet cartoon «Ёжик в тумане») is linked to the same service. Tuman's mascot is a hedgehog, the channel called its subscribers "hedgehogs", and on March 16, 2026, the team released a browser game on the domain ezh-v-tumane.ru. The link to the Russian App Store version from tumanvpn.ru (April 2026) led to a page with the address «ёж-и-туман» (hedgehog-and-fog).
Meanwhile, projects that the official channel doesn't mention also live under the same name. Here is what we found when checking on October 26, 2026:
None of them is a continuation of Tuman. The project's official addresses are the sites tumanvpn.ru and tuman-vpn.com, the channel @realtumanvpn, the forum @tuman_vpn_community and the support bot @realtumanvpnsupportbot. How to tell clones apart in general is described in our article on fake VPN apps.
Tuman had no free plan, but it had free trial access. The Google Play listing (May 2026) promised a "free trial" without registration or a bank card. Under the payment rules on tumanvpn.ru (in force since January 16, 2026, latest revision of June 9, 2026), the subscription cost "from 149 rubles per device". The exact price was shown by the Telegram bot, and payment went through SBP (Russia's Faster Payments System) or whatever methods the bot offered.
In the App Store the app was listed as free with in-app purchases. The release notes for version 1.3.2 (April 5, 2026) mention a referral program. There is no point in buying a Tuman VPN subscription now: the service itself has announced its closure, and the rules provide no refunds.
We found no leaks or abuses linked to Tuman in public sources. But the service was also hard to verify from the outside: the protocol isn't named on the listings, and there is no independent audit.
What the developer itself declared:
There is also a legal inconsistency. The user agreement on both sites is governed by Russian law and prohibits using the service "to gain access to blocked resources", although in the stores the app was advertised for YouTube, Discord and Roblox in Russia. The privacy policy on tuman-vpn.com was updated on October 7, 2026, after the closure announcement had already appeared.
The main thing Tuman could do was split tunneling: Russian services went directly, everything else through the VPN. We compared BessyConnect and two well-known clients on facts that can be checked in the stores and on official sites as of October 26, 2026.
| BessyConnect | Happ | Amnezia VPN | Tuman VPN | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | Ready-made VPN service | Client; you get the key or subscription from a provider | Multi-protocol client with setup for your own server | Ready-made VPN service |
| Protocol | VLESS with Reality camouflage | Depends on the key | Depends on the setup | Not disclosed |
| Windows | No | Yes | Yes | Used to; no longer downloadable from the site |
| TVs | Apple TV, Android TV | Not checked | Not checked | Not claimed |
| Google Play as of 26.10.2026 | Available | Available, 10M+ installs | Available, 5M+ installs | Removed |
Where Tuman was stronger, to put it plainly. It had clients for Windows, Windows 7 and OpenWrt routers, a built-in list of Russian apps that bypassed the tunnel, and a reverse VPN into Russia for travel. BessyConnect has no Windows app, so for a PC Happ or Amnezia VPN will suit you better. A detailed comparison of BessyConnect with other services is in the article BessyConnect and other VPNs.
For anyone left without Tuman on a phone, tablet or TV, we recommend BessyConnect. It runs on VLESS with Reality camouflage: to the carrier, the traffic looks like an ordinary HTTPS connection. There are more than a hundred servers, no logs are kept, registration is optional, and there is a trial period, so you can check how it works on your network before paying.
BessyConnect apps:
What neither BessyConnect nor any other VPN solves. It won't refund the money for a paid Tuman subscription. When mobile internet is cut down to whitelists, a VPN as a rule doesn't help. BessyConnect has no Windows app. And BessyConnect, like Tuman, isn't in the Russian App Store: to install it on an iPhone you need an Apple ID from another country.
Tuman VPN is leaving on its own, and there is no point waiting for its updates. If you need a replacement on a smartphone, tablet, Mac or TV, install BessyConnect from the download page and test it during the trial period.
Has Tuman VPN shut down? Yes, the team announced the project's halt on tumanvpn.ru. The system is promised to be shut down gradually, and as of October 26, 2026, the app is already gone from Google Play and the App Store.
Where can I download Tuman VPN if it isn't on Google Play? There are no official sources anymore: the site has removed the download buttons and the APK file. Builds from third-party sites haven't been checked by anyone and won't be updated, so you shouldn't install them.
Are Hedgehog in the Fog VPN and Tuman VPN the same thing? Yes, the hedgehog is Tuman VPN's mascot, and the Russian version in the App Store, judging by the page address, was called «Ёж и туман» (Hedgehog and Fog). Channels and sites such as tumanvpn.info and @tumanvpn don't belong to the official project.
How much did Tuman VPN cost? Under the payment rules on tumanvpn.ru, from 149 rubles per device; the exact price was shown by the Telegram bot. Only the trial access was free, and the rules provide no refunds.
What can I replace Tuman VPN with? For iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android and TVs we recommend BessyConnect: VLESS with Reality camouflage, no registration, with a trial period. BessyConnect has no Windows app; there, clients such as Happ or Amnezia VPN will do.
