On Google Play it has more than a million installs and a rating of 4.0 in the Russian storefront; the latest update came out on October 22, 2026. The listing has no subscriptions and no ads label. In the App Store an app with the same name from a different developer is sold, and that one is paid. Zaychik VPN belongs to Free VPN Unlimited AG, a joint-stock company from Zug, Switzerland, that is listed in the Swiss commercial register. The developer's country is Switzerland. Which server countries are available in the app itself is not stated on the Google Play listing, and in replies to reviews the developer mentions only the Auto server.
According to the Zefix register, the company was registered in 2020 under the name Media Target AG for marketing services. On October 21, 2022, it changed its name to the current one and listed VPN services and software development as its purpose. In spring 2026 the company moved to Rigistrasse 2 in Zug, and that address is on the listing. The phone number there starts with the Polish code +48.
The same publisher has three more VPNs on Google Play: VPNLY, VPN MARS and VPN ASTRO. Zaychik's technical identifier is free.vpn.astro.rus, and judging by it, this is the Russian-language version of the Astro family. In replies to reviews the developer asks users to write to an email on the freevpnastro.com domain, which is the Astro VPN site. It claims 20 servers in four countries: France, Germany, the Netherlands and the US. We couldn't confirm whether Zaychik uses the same network.
People searching for «зайчик впн» ("zaychik vpn") are usually looking for the Android app from Free VPN Unlimited AG. The other "bunnies" are different products with a similar name or icon.

You can recognize the original by the publisher Free VPN Unlimited AG and the address in Zug in the "About the developer" section. On iPhone, the Russian App Store has only the namesake from Benefit Virtue Technologies Limited, which requires iOS 16. It is a different service with different terms, and you should install it understanding the difference.
On a PC, Zaychik is run through an Android emulator. BlueStacks has a page for this app, but a VPN inside an emulator, as a rule, protects only the emulator's own apps, not the whole computer. For Windows, the developer offers a different product, VPNLY: clients for Windows and macOS are listed on its site, but we didn't check the installers themselves. Most complaints describe two scenarios: the VPN connects and then disconnects after 30 seconds or a few minutes, or it doesn't connect over mobile data at all. These reviews on Google Play date from September 2026; one author specifies that he compared it with another VPN on the MTS network and that one worked.
The developer replies that they are working on stability and asks for the city, the provider and the stage at which the error occurs. It looks like the problem is in the service itself or in filtering on the carrier's network, not in the phone's settings.

In the Google Play "Data safety" section, the developer stated that data is not collected and not shared with third parties, and that it can't be deleted. The privacy policy on free-vpn.club describes more. It lists traffic volume and usage time, device identifiers, the name of the provider and carrier, and location by GPS or by IP address. Browsing history, according to the policy, is not recorded.
For the App Store namesake, the developer itself noted that diagnostic data may be used to track you across other companies' apps and websites. We didn't find an independent audit for any of the "bunnies".
