Gus VPN («Гусь ВПН», literally "Goose VPN") is not one app. As of October 27, 2026, it is a name used by at least five Russian-language websites, more than ten Telegram bots, a Chrome extension and the Dutch service GOOSE VPN, which has existed since 2016. There is no "Gus VPN" app in either the Russian App Store or RuStore, and two sites from the search results, gusvpn.ru and myvpngoose.ru, send you to the page of a different service, VPN #1, when you click "Buy". If you need a VPN with its own app in the store and a clear publisher, we recommend BessyConnect. Below we go through what we were able to verify about each "Goose".
The name "Gus VPN" has no visible single owner: it is a shared name for several products, and no connection between them is declared anywhere. None of the Russian-language sites lists a legal entity, a tax ID (INN) or an offer agreement, so it's impossible to establish from the public pages who takes the payment.
Demand for the name is high: about 3.5 thousand impressions a month according to Yandex Wordstat (25.09–25.10.2026). Yandex suggestions show what people search for most: «гусь впн скачать на пк» ("gus vpn download for pc"), «гусь впн официальный сайт» ("gus vpn official site"), «гусь впн отзывы» ("gus vpn reviews"), «гусь впн не работает» ("gus vpn not working").
What hides behind the name:
Similar services with short "folk" names have multiplied. What they have in common we covered in the review of people's VPNs: Tok, Tik, Ded, Vanya, Ogon.
We didn't find an official Russian-language site behind which there would be one specific "Gus" service. Five sites call themselves "Gus VPN", and none of them leads to the same place as the others, except the pair gusvpn.ru and myvpngoose.ru. We opened each of them on October 27, 2026.
| Site | Domain registered (WHOIS) | Where the "Buy" and "Connect" buttons lead | What it promises |
|---|---|---|---|
| gusvpn.ru | 25.03.2026 | Via a short link to vp-n1.site, the "VPN #1" service, with the tag gusvpn | Servers "in 10+ countries", 3 days for 10 ₽ |
| myvpngoose.ru | 03.02.2026 | The same short link, the same vp-n1.site, tag myvpngoose | 5 devices, money back within 7 days |
| gusvpn.homes | 23.07.2026 | Via a redirect to the page «Horizon VPS — Виртуальные серверы» (Horizon VPS — Virtual servers) | 16 countries, 7 devices, 3 days for 1 ₽ |
| goosevpn.one | 24.01.2026 | To the Telegram bot @GooseVPN_rbot | The APK and the key are issued in the bot |
| goosevpn.site | 08.12.2025 | The buttons are handled by an external script, the final address isn't visible in the page code | "5000+ servers in 80 countries", "2M+ users" |
The numbers on these sites don't match each other. The "Goose" network counts 5 countries (the extension), more than 10 (gusvpn.ru), 16 (gusvpn.homes) or 80 (goosevpn.site). That doesn't happen with one service; these are different sellers.
The gusvpn.homes scheme is familiar to us. The same final "Horizon VPS" address, the same "7 devices", "16 countries" and the "3 days for 1 ruble" trial were on the site of another brand that we covered in the review of Tok VPN. It looks like storefronts under different popular names lead into one and the same sales scheme.
Two more details. The goosevpn.one home page is hidden from search engines with a noindex tag. And the footer of myvpngoose.ru lists a support address on the goosevpn.com domain, that is, the Dutch company's, even though payment goes to VPN #1, and the "Privacy policy" link leads nowhere.
There is no free "Goose" with its own app. The Russian-language sites ask from 349 rubles a month and offer a paid 3-day trial for 1 or 10 rubles, and the only free thing is the Chrome extension, which works only inside the browser.
| Where | Month | 3 months | Year | Trial |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| gusvpn.ru and myvpngoose.ru | 349 ₽ | 780 ₽ | 2100 ₽ | 3 days for 10 ₽ |
| vp-n1.site, where both "Buy" buttons lead | 349 ₽ | 990 ₽ | 2790 ₽ | 3 days for 10 ₽ |
| gusvpn.homes | Not stated | Not stated | Not stated | 3 days for 1 ₽ |
| GOOSE VPN, goosevpn.com | €9.99 | No plan | €59.88 (€4.99 a month) | Money back within 30 days |
| The «Гусь VPN» extension for Chrome | Free |
Prices were recorded on October 27, 2026. Note the discrepancy: on the gusvpn.ru storefront three months cost 780 ₽, while on the VPN #1 page, where the payment actually happens, the same period costs 990 ₽, and a year 2790 ₽ instead of 2100 ₽.
The Dutch GOOSE VPN also has a lifetime plan: €89 for one device, €129 for five and €159 for ten. Payment is in euros, and the site doesn't say whether it works with Russian cards.
A trial for 1 or 10 rubles means you enter your card details. The gusvpn.ru site says "no auto-renewals", but payment doesn't happen on it, so check the renewal terms where you actually pay.
You can't download "Gus VPN" from the Russian App Store or RuStore: there's no app with that name there (checked on 27.10.2026). The Russian-language sites suggest installing a third-party client and pasting a key from a Telegram bot into it, while goosevpn.one hands out the Android app as an APK file.
On Android. A Google Play search turns up only the Dutch GOOSE VPN: more than 100 thousand installs, last updated on October 11, 2023. The goosevpn.one site advises another route: get the APK in the bot and turn on "Install from unknown sources". A file from a chat doesn't go through store review, and you don't know what's in it. Why this is dangerous we wrote in the article on fake VPN apps.
On iPhone. The app "VPN - GOOSE VPN" from Robru B.V. is in the US App Store, but not in the Russian one. The latest version, 5.2.0, came out on June 8, 2023. The same store has a namesake, "Goose VPN" from INFINITE TECH LIMITED, with four ratings and a last update in November 2023; we found no connection between it and the Russian-language sites.
On PC. The Russian-language sites have no "Gus VPN" program for Windows: they list Windows among the platforms but offer the same key in a third-party client. The Dutch GOOSE VPN has clients for Windows, macOS and Linux on its site. The «Гусь VPN» extension installs in Chrome but protects only browser tabs; the computer's other programs go online directly. We covered the difference in the article VPN extension or app.
Before installing any "Goose", check three things:
Most often "Gus isn't working" for one of three reasons: the 1- or 10-ruble trial has ended, the server in the key stopped responding on your carrier, or you're looking for support from a different service than the one you paid. Start by figuring out where exactly you bought access.
What to check, in order:
The general troubleshooting order is described in the article why a VPN isn't working. And if your carrier has shut off internet entirely, no VPN will help.
Verifiable ratings exist only for the Dutch GOOSE VPN and the Chrome extension. The reviews on the Russian-language sites are posted by the sites themselves and aren't backed by anything: they have neither a store listing nor a page on a review platform.
| Product | Where the rating is | Rating |
|---|---|---|
| GOOSE VPN for Android | Google Play | 3.6 from 1.56 thousand reviews in the US storefront (1.53 in the Russian one), 100K+ installs |
| GOOSE VPN for iPhone | US App Store | 4.6 from 236 ratings |
| The «Гусь VPN» extension | Chrome Web Store | 4.9 from 171 ratings with 92 users |
| goosevpn.one | The site itself | "4.7 out of 5 based on 1200+ reviews", no source given |
The extension has almost twice as many ratings as users. The page offers no explanation for this. The listing shows the developer's address on gmail.com and a note that the developer is not a trader, meaning EU consumer protection laws don't apply to deals with them.
The "Data safety" section on Google Play says something about GOOSE VPN's security. The developer writes that the app may collect personal data and app activity information, the data isn't shared with third parties and is encrypted in transit, but it can't be deleted.
The Russian-language sites effectively have no privacy policy: on myvpngoose.ru the link to it is empty, and on the other four we didn't find one. There's nothing to back up the promises of "zero logs" and "quantum encryption".
We recommend BessyConnect to those who don't want to figure out which of the "Geese" is real and who gets the money. It is its own app in the stores with a clear publisher, and you don't need to copy keys anywhere.
What is known about BessyConnect:
Where to download:
What can replace Gus VPN — a comparison based on what can be verified:
| "Gus VPN" sites (gusvpn.ru etc.) | GOOSE VPN (Netherlands) | The «Гусь VPN» extension | BessyConnect | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Publisher | Not stated | Robru B.V. | A developer with no name, an address on gmail.com | REVSTREAM LLC (Armenia) |
| App in a store | No | Google Play and App Store, not in the Russian App Store | Chrome Web Store | App Store and Google Play |
| What it protects | Depends on the third-party client | The whole device | Only the Chrome browser | The whole device |
| Protocol | Not named (goosevpn.site mentions VLESS) | Not checked | SOCKS5 proxy | VLESS with Reality camouflage |
| Windows | A key in a third-party client | Has its own client | Through Chrome | No app |
| Latest update | Not applicable | October 2023 | April 20, 2026 | October 26, 2026 (App Store) |
| Trial access | 3 days for 1 or 10 ₽ | 30-day money back | Free | There is a trial period |
Where the "Geese" are stronger, to put it plainly. The Dutch GOOSE VPN has its own client for Windows and Linux, while BessyConnect has no Windows app: if you need a VPN on exactly such a computer, BessyConnect won't cover that. The «Гусь VPN» extension is free, while BessyConnect is a paid service with a trial period.
There are other honest limits too. The BessyConnect app isn't in the Russian App Store; installing it on an iPhone requires an Apple ID from another country. We can't help get back money already sent through a storefront site; that's a question for the service that accepted it. When mobile internet is shut off completely, no VPN connects, neither "Gus" nor ours.
If your "Gus" is paid for and works, there's no urgent reason to switch. But if you're just choosing and don't want to guess which of the five sites is real, start with BessyConnect: the app for your device is on the download page, and the trial period lets you test the service before paying.
Are Gus VPN and Goose VPN the same thing? No. GOOSE VPN is a Dutch service from Robru B.V., operating since 2016, without a Russian version of its site. The Russian-language "Gus VPN" sites appeared in 2025–2026 and lead to other services at payment.
Is Gus VPN free? Only the «Гусь VPN» extension for Chrome is free, and it protects only the browser. The sites ask from 349 ₽ a month, and a 3-day trial costs 1 or 10 rubles.
Which Gus VPN site is official? None of the five Russian-language sites names an owner or company details, so their "official" status can't be confirmed. The buttons on gusvpn.ru and myvpngoose.ru lead to the VPN #1 service, and gusvpn.homes to the Horizon VPS page.
Can I download Gus VPN for PC? The Russian-language "Geese" have no separate program; the sites offer a key for a third-party client. Only the Dutch GOOSE VPN has a Windows client, and it last updated its apps in 2023.
What can replace Gus VPN? We recommend BessyConnect: its own app in the App Store and Google Play, the VLESS protocol with Reality camouflage, no logs kept, and a trial period. BessyConnect has no Windows app.
