Kapibara VPN (Капибара ВПН, CapybaraVPN): what the service is, prices, how to connect via Happ and why it isn't working

Kapibara VPN («Капибара ВПН») is CapybaraVPN, a paid VPN subscription with the site capybaravpn.pro and the community @capybaravpncom on Telegram. The service has no app of its own: you add the link from your personal account to the Happ client. A month costs 180 ₽, and as of October 27, 2026, the site offers no free mode and no trial period. The operator is a Russian sole proprietor, Samsonov Maksim Yuryevich (ИП Самсонов Максим Юрьевич). Under similar names on Google Play and Telegram there are several more VPNs that have nothing to do with CapybaraVPN.

What is Kapibara VPN and who is behind it?

CapybaraVPN sells access to its servers as a subscription link that you get in the personal account on the site. The service has been running since July 2023. For the first three months it was called «ВПН твоей бывшей» ("Your Ex's VPN"), and in October 2023 it changed its name to CapybaraVPN. The public offer agreement names a sole proprietor with an OGRNIP (state registration number) and INN (tax ID), and there is a record of him in EGRIP, the Russian register of sole proprietors.

The founder promised an app of their own back in the rebranding post on October 26, 2023. Three years later, connection still goes through third-party clients. How such subscription-based services work is covered in our review of people's VPNs.

Which Kapibara VPN site and bot are real?

CapybaraVPN's official addresses are the site capybaravpn.pro, the channel @capybaravpncom, support @capybaravpnts and the group vk.com/capybaravpn. The "About the company" page says outright: "There are no other links or contacts." Everything else with a capybara in its name needs to be checked separately.

What turned up under this name on October 27, 2026:

• The channels @capybaravpn, @kapibaravpn, @kapibara_vpn and @kapibara_vpn_bot. These are small channels of CapybaraVPN itself, with 2 to 94 subscribers. In posts from January and February 2026, they link to the same site, support and the account-issuing bot @capybaravpn_auth.
• "Капибара ВПН" on Google Play. The app capybaravpn.app from the developer VPN V2RAY, more than 100 downloads, updated on October 19, 2026. The listing names the legal entity D-8392 OOO with an address in the Kirov region. It's a "one-button" VPN, not a client for subscriptions. The same account publishes Karing VPN, Fusvob VPN, «Щука ВПН» (Shchuka VPN) and other apps named after well-known VPN brands.
• Capybara VPN with the bot @capybaravpnbot. A separate service with the site capybara.black; the domain was registered on October 16, 2026. Its terms name the Hong Kong company MISUTECHLIMITED LTD as the operator, the price is 249 ₽ a month, with a limit of 100 GB of traffic per day per device.
• @kapibaravpnbot "Kapibara VPN (vless + outline)". The description promises "500+ servers" and the site kapibaraproject.ru. As of October 27, no such domain is registered in the .ru zone registry.
• The bots @capybara_vpn_bot, @CapybaraVPN_bot, @capybaravpn_bot and @kapibaravpn_bot — no description and no links to a site. Whose they are is not stated.

Check the name after the @, not the chat title: anyone can set a title. Paying through a bot that neither CapybaraVPN's site nor its channel links to is a deal with a different seller. How to tell clones apart by publisher and permissions is described in our article on fake VPN apps.

How much does Kapibara VPN cost and how to pay for or renew a subscription?

A subscription costs 180 ₽ for a month, 510 ₽ for three months and 969 ₽ for six months, and bonus days are added to each term. The monthly price hasn't changed since at least February 2025: an archived copy of the site shows the same 180 ₽.

Prices from capybaravpn.pro as of October 27, 2026. Payment by MIR, Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and UnionPay cards, via YooMoney and SberPay. When paying, you're asked for an email for the receipt and your Telegram username or phone number.

What's important before paying:

1. There's no auto-renewal. The service sends a reminder 7 days before the end of the term; you have to renew manually in the personal account.
2. A promo code doesn't stack with the bonus. Under clause 3.6 of the offer, only one counts, for example +10 days with a promo code instead of the +7 bonus days.
3. A refund becomes impossible almost immediately. If 1 MB of traffic has passed through the subscription, the service is considered rendered. Money isn't refunded for mobile internet restrictions in your region either. A request is reviewed within up to 15 days.
4. Devices. The pricing page says "no device limits", but the offer prohibits passing the key to outsiders, with an exception for close relatives.

How to download Kapibara VPN for phone and PC?

You don't need to download "Kapibara VPN" from a store: there is no CapybaraVPN app in the App Store, Google Play or RuStore. You install the Happ client and add the link from the personal account to it.

1. Register in the personal account at capybaravpn.pro by email and pay for a plan.
2. Install the client. Android: Happ from Google Play (com.happproxy). Windows: the Happ installer from the developer's GitHub; as of October 27, the current version is 4.5.4.
3. Copy the connection link in the account and in Happ tap "From clipboard" (on Android, "Paste").
4. Choose a location and connect. On Windows the service advises running Happ as administrator.

iPhone is harder. The guide on the site leads to "Happ — Proxy Utility Plus", but on October 27, 2026, that App Store page returns a 404 error, and Apple's search doesn't find the app in any of the ten countries we checked. The regular Happ — Proxy Utility isn't in the Russian App Store either. In a post from October 18, the service names Happ and INCY as the current options, and INCY is available in the Russian App Store.

Why is Kapibara VPN not working and what to do?

Most often the cause is an old subscription link. After September 20, 2026, according to the service, some foreign IP addresses became unreachable, and the old OLD connection almost stopped working. Only the new NEW connection is being restored, and to get it you need to renew your subscription, even if it's still active.

What to check, in order:

1. The site won't open. According to the service, in August 2026 the capybaravpn.com domain was added to the "registry of undesirable sites". The working account address is capybaravpn.pro/login.html.
2. Whether the account has a NEW connection. If it does, copy its link, delete the old profile in Happ and add the new one. If not, the service suggests renewing the subscription.
3. Refresh the subscription with the 🔄 button in Happ to pull in the new server list.
4. Update Happ itself. Before contacting support, the service asks you first of all to install the latest version of the client.
5. On Windows, switch between Proxy and TUN mode, and choose TCP in the ping settings.
6. Check the status page capybaravpn.pro/status.html. On October 27, 5 of 24 locations were unavailable there: Brazil, Iceland, Canada, Lithuania and Sweden.

Is Kapibara VPN safe?

CapybaraVPN has something many subscription services lack: a named operator with an OGRNIP, INN, phone number and email. But its main protection promises can't be verified. The site has no description or source code for the VLCapy protocol, and there are no independent checks of "No Logs" or of RAM-only servers.

What the service says about itself and what follows from it:

• Account data. The policy lists email and name, and Yandex.Metrica is connected for site statistics, with a 12-month retention period. When buying, you're additionally asked for a Telegram username or phone number.
• Logs. The locations page promises that IP addresses and online activity are not recorded. The policy itself says nothing about VPN server logs.
• Russian jurisdiction. The operator is a Russian sole proprietor, and the policy refers to Federal Law 152-FZ (on personal data). For some this is a plus, because it's clear whom to go to with a complaint. For others it's a minus, because the service operates under Russian rules.
• The numbers don't match. The home page says 21 countries, the "About the company" and "Locations" pages say 24. The same locations page gives both 810 and 700 servers. The founding date on the site is July 1, 2023, while a post from August 11, 2026, says that before the capybaravpn.com domain the brand worked "for another two years" under its former name.

Since October 18, 2026, some foreign locations route Russian services: banks and marketplaces automatically go through CapybaraVPN's Russian servers. It's convenient, but it means part of the traffic is handled in Russia rather than in the chosen country.

What can replace Kapibara VPN: comparison with alternatives

If CapybaraVPN won't connect or you need a service with its own app, there are three clear replacements. Below are BessyConnect and two services we've already reviewed. Where CapybaraVPN is stronger is stated plainly.

What neither BessyConnect nor any other VPN solves. When mobile internet is shut off under whitelists, a VPN usually doesn't help: traffic simply doesn't reach the server. Are Kapibara VPN and CapybaraVPN the same thing? Yes, it's one service with the site capybaravpn.pro, formerly capybaravpn.com. But "Капибара ВПН" on Google Play, the bot @capybaravpnbot and the bot @kapibaravpnbot have nothing to do with it.

Where is the Kapibara VPN personal account? At capybaravpn.pro/login.html, with login by email and password. The old address capybaravpn.com redirects there too, if it opens.

Is there a free version of Kapibara VPN? No. As of October 27, 2026, the site has neither a free plan nor a trial period, only bonus days added to a paid term: from 7 days with a month for 180 ₽.

How do I connect Kapibara VPN on PC? Install Happ for Windows, copy the subscription link in the personal account and add it with the "From clipboard" button. The service advises running Happ as administrator and using TUN mode for games and Discord.
